Nope, they don't interract with the Guild Wars client. Using Voice Com is as much as using a phone or real life "lan" party commication.

Programs which directly input your Guild Wars keystrokes, modify (enhance) them or which directly use the stream of data between the client and server are concidered third party programs.

Texmod and the drunkard bot fall under this category, and are therefore perfect grounds (albeit redicilous) of the bannable. Ventrillo, Mumble, TS3, ... aren't cuz they don't do any of the previous.

only the bad ones. in my alliance just two players got banned as far as i know.

edit: also the razor imperator mouse can be set to click/double click in one spot every X seconds.....

well that was garbage. ty for deleting botters.
but i doubt they actually found botters. i got banned too.
i didn't even bot. the only thing close to it is texmod "cartography made easy" and also some custom ones to make my char look different on my screen.

which isn't a bot.. its a modifier as said on here

off-topic but this made me lol when people "ghost" in counter-strike, people cheating by telling their friends of enemy locations. completely not what happens in gw, but just reminded me of it.

I wasn't commenting on Borat's specific issue, just on support in general. However if pressed, I would say that yea, it sounds like he got the shaft.

It's funny that not only do you speak for an entire community (you are one person, everyone else can speak for themselves), but apparently they all "know" as well. Well in this case, that would demand proof from each and every one of you. You don't "know" anything, the sad fact is he is right, some people do get banned unjustly, and although some of these accounts are restored not all are. In a scenario where the boundaries are undefined, punishment is based on an unknown variable. I'm not speaking for this person because for all I know, he very well could have done something wrong, but I don't know, and neither do you regardless of your claims.

Send a support ticket,if you didn't use any bots to farm rata sum during those weekends you should be able to get your account back(or be told what it is you did wrong,if nothing else).

Regarding the drunkard bots, I seriously cannot believe some of you question whether they are considered a bot. That just blows my mind. Now, here's something that might blow your mind: why not just play the game and use the drinks while playing it? Amazing concept, no? There are even some skills that work with it. For those that PvP, you can drink right before zoning into the next match and not get the random annoying /sit, and other action-stopping emotes, during the match. It's easy enough to remember, and you might even catch yourself still trying to do it even after you finish the title.

If anything should be done with alcohol, 1 point alcohol should just be removed from the game. It's really a tedious waste of time and probably is part of the reason I can see for bots to even exist for drunkard. I know I had zero problems with using 3 point alcohol, but that was mostly because I only had to remember to click on it every once in a while, or right after my 3 minute Drunken Master skill ended, instead of staring at the title progress bar each minute to maximize time. Honestly, I feel sorry for those that actually do use the 1 point alcohol, but that still does not justify use of a bot to automate it — just use the 3 point ones if you don't like it.

For those who haven't understood the replies by the GM's (and what I would consider simple, obvious logic):

Using any third party program, under any circumstance, can get you a ban, even ones they say are currently 'safe'. What the GM's appear to do is NOT specifically target certain programs - meaning they are not going to make an effort to ban you for them. BUT you have still broken the EULA if you have used them.

You do NOT need to have your titles maxed. If you want them maxed, you CAN max them without a bot. If you don't want to go through the effort, tough. IMO, even the likes of TexMod is an unfair advantage (when it comes to Cartography titles).

Oh, and those who comment about the 'losses' we had because rare mini's were banned or whatever should just be happy to know that those people using unfair advantages to get those are gone.

it is nice to see that anet has made an effort to eliminate bots in games, even though it is possible that some may have been (accidentally?) banned for using texmod or ksmod.
